What Is Reiki?

Reiki was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usuai in the early 1900s after spending some time fasting, meditating and praying about his life. A compassionate man at heart, Dr.Usui had been studying health and healing disciplines since he was only 4years old. Those practices, however, required for the practitioner to build up their own life force energy and then deplete it during the treatments. He was convinced that there should be a way of channeling energy without using your own. That is how he discovered Reiki. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word REI which means 'Universal Life', and KI which means 'Energy'. For this practice, the practitioner connects with Divine Source energy, so they are now only a vessel for it, no longer affecting their own energy.

During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner channels and guides life force energy through the chakra points, and any areas of concern to balance, heal and re-energize the body. The nature of Reiki not only allows for it to reach and heal our physical body, but also our emotional body ,aura and soul.

Reiki helps to gently, but efficiently, dissolve energy blockages created by physical, or emotional reasons. By balancing our energy points, one can heal from chronic pains and illness, emotional traumas, stress, and grief. It also allows us to gain a stronger connection with our soul and therefore our true purpose in life. This naturally leads to a much happier and more fulfilling life. We learn to love ourselves and choose only what is best for us.

Because Reiki is based on the power of intention and has a spiritual nature, it also helps one connect to one's higher self and to open up to spirituality.

The incredible benefits of Reiki don't just end at the end of the session; they stay with us in our daily lives and help us lead happier, more and authentic lives.
